Ever Since You Left
My home lies empty without you
Now none's with me to share my woe
Time shows me his sharp tooth
And plunders from me my youth
Here my loneliness is hostile to me
And drags me into the deepest sea
Where haplessly I float and cry aloud
And call out loud under the pitchy cloud
The road which I once paved for you
That lies desolate under the blue
Where memories pant but to forget
Quite early and before the sunset
Now winter rules there throughout
And chillness ever haunts about
Drawing a pallor upon the day
Leaving my love shy for want of a ray
My world's changed a lot since you left
Thieving away my joys which I had kept
Now I'm a dejected lot- I curse my fate
But whom to say?- I only keep quiet.
